THE DAILY NUGGET
Nugget #1
English is such a fascinating language that we cannot give it due justice by extolling that in just a few emails but to tie it to our week of enchantment and magic, let’s just say that it’s a ‘living’ language that is ever, ever growing! Yes! A new word is added to the dictionary every two hours!
English has certainly shown how being adaptable helps it remain as the universal language, even in the air! Yes! Since 1944, English is officially the language of the skies so pilots need to communicate in English regardless of race, language, nationality or airline.
And this list just continues…but the nugget for today goes back to why English is just so fascinating… the words!
Here’s a list of words that may look weird to you but have been added to the EL dictionary (yep, check them for yourself to be convinced!).
However, do be reminded that these are to be used informally so please don’t go and tell your friends to pull up their socks and not be a Flibbertigibbet or a Lollygagger.
That will definitely flummox them.

I didn’t know that!
Isn’t English weird yet wonderful?!
Do think about the other fascinating aspects of English and join us, the EL department, as we celebrate all the mythical and magical, about this fascinating language of the world.
We hope you’ve enjoyed today’s nugget!
Yours in Englisc Magic,
