Subject: Choice of work attachment programme
Dear Mr Sim,
I am Tiffany Chan from 3D. I would like to express my thanks and gratitude for allowing me to take part in the work attachment programme. As for my preferred choice, I believe that the Mandai Wildlife Group would best suit me as it entices me the most. I would like to share my reasons why.
To start off, I believe that protecting nature is our number one priority. I have always had a love for animals since I was young, I feel that being given this opportunity allows me to upgrade my skills in taking care of animals. I have always wondered how to properly care for animals in a way that they will feel most comfortable. With this opportunity, I will be able to gain sufficient knowledge on how I should take good care of animals. Additionally, I will be able to turn my interest into a passion. Furthermore, I feel that in many parts of the world, wildlife is endangered through wildfires and bushfires. Hence, they are not able to live in a habitat without fear. Not to mention, I strongly feel that they need our help in taking care of them such that future generations are also able to handle them with care.
Another reason why I would like to participate in this Mandai Wildlife Group programme is because I am thinking of pursuing a job as a Zoologist. I believe this programme will provide me with basic knowledge that will be of good use when I work in the animal care sector. Moreover, this will prepare me for the future as I am able to protect the ones who are close to extinction. Also, I am thinking of getting a degree in the course!
Undeniably, there are many benefits and advantages that the Mandai Wildlife Group programme will bring. They will benefit my classmates as well as me. One benefit is that I will be able to gain independence. This programme allows me to understand the need to care for animals by handling the various animals and helping with animal feeding. The reason behind this is that I am growing up and I believe that it is time I become independent and take care of myself. This programme will broaden my horizons as I will be trained to properly care for animals. Thus, when I grow up, I will be equipped on how to be on my own instead of relying on my parents.
Furthermore, this will allow me to take responsibility for my own actions as I become independent. These crucial values that I will acquire will benefit me in the long run. As for my classmates, they will be exposed to first hand experiences of how serious the situation is regarding animal conservation. There are many that are close to extinction and this will instil in them the importance of contributing to wildlife conservation. They will be able to understand how much they have to do to care for endangered animals. I feel that this is a great opportunity for my classmates as they will be able to see how difficult it is to care for them. As a result of that, they will understand that their actions play a vital role in nature. Henceforth, they will learn the importance of contributing to wildlife conservation as their actions could make a great impact on the wildlife.
Undoubtedly, there are factors my parents will consider in allowing me to participate in this programme. First being whether it is useful and practical in the long run. I assured them that this programme instils responsibility, independence and wisdom. They believe that these values play a crucial role in my growth to teach me how to be a good person in society. Additionally, another factor is whether it is costly. I have mentioned to them that it is a self-funded organisation. It will be good for me to participate as I will be able to learn new skills from the programme. Furthermore, I told them that it provides a three-week attachment programme to two zoos. They believe that if the programme lasts for a period of time, it will definitely instil values that I can learn and take home with me.
To sum up, I believe that the Mandai Wildlife Group programme offers a wide range of adequate values for young students like me to learn and develop. On top of that, it brings about many possibilities for the future, thus I do believe that everyone should try to participate in such a valuable experience. To end off, I hope that you will consider my choice. Thank you.
